Russia hopes to seal Power of Siberia 2 deal with China this year - TASS


Russia is hoping to finalize a deal with China for the Power of Siberia 2 pipeline this year, according to the Russian news agency TASS. The Power of Siberia 2 pipeline is expected to run from Russia's Siberian region to China, delivering natural gas to the country's energy-hungry market. The proposed pipeline is expected to have a capacity of up to 50 billion cubic meters of gas per year, with construction costs estimated at around $10 billion. The deal is seen as crucial for Russia's energy sector, as the country seeks to diversify its exports away from Europe and towards Asia, where demand for energy is growing rapidly

Border violence displaces 76,000 in Lebanon: Hezbollah

 The International Organization for Migration (IOM) of the United Nations reported on Friday that nearly three months of nearly daily fighting along the border with Israel had resulted in the displacement of more than 76,000 people in Lebanon. The boundary region has seen a flood of viciousness since early October, with blow for blow trades of fire forging ahead with Friday between Israeli powers and Hezbollah. In a report distributed on Thursday, the IOM said that the heightening had uprooted 76,018 individuals, predominantly in areas of southern Lebanon lining Israel.
