Imran insists 3shooters involved in Wazirabad assassination bid, wants CJP-backerto prob incident

On Thursday, former Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the Nov. 3 attack on him in W-Z-I R-A B-A D was a "planned assassination attempt," and he insisted that three gunmen were involved.

The ex-premier, who is still recovering from his bullet wounds, spoke to the nation about the findings of the joint investigation team (JIT) and called for a "powerful" body to investigate the incident with support from Pakistan's chief justice.

In November of that year, an employee of the PTI was killed in the attack at W-Z-I R-A B-A D Allah W-A L-A C H O W K, where the party's "H-A Q-E Q-I A-Z-A D-I" march against the federal government had stopped on its way to Islamabad. The attack also injured 14 others, including the former prime minister and PTI leaders.

Dawn was informed earlier by a person familiar with the JIT's findings that shots were fired from a considerable height by "three unknown shooters, from unknown weapons", in addition to the gun attack by the suspect, N-A V-I D M-E H -E R, who was arrested from the spot.

The chairman of the PTI stated in his televised speech that "two to three people" were involved in the plot to kill him. Although there are "black sheep" in every institution, I am aware that the nation's armed forces make sacrifices on behalf of the nation.

But I want the person who planned this to work with the JIT. Those who deliberately hinder justice must be dealt with.

In addition, he sought justice from Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar A-T-A B-A N D-I A-L. I had previously stated that the Supreme Court is the only source of justice for me. The powerful people I've mentioned won't let justice be done. I can only get justice if a thorough investigation is supported by the chief justice

Planned attack

Imran said in his speech that people from "agencies" had already told him about the plan to kill him. He claimed that he would be killed in a plot that was similar to the "killing of Salman T-A S-I R".

Imran also claimed that in an effort to justify the attack on him by a "religious fanatic", attempts were made to fabricate a story that accused him of blasphemy.

He claimed that W-A Q-A R S-A T-I, a journalist, had allegedly shared a video of him, which was then sent to other people. He claimed that PML-N leaders J-A V-E D L-A T-I F, Rana Sanaullah, Maryam N-A W-A Z, and K H-A W-A J-A Asif then held press conferences in which they accused him of hurting the religious sentiments of the masses.

He claimed that Pakistan Television was also instructed to conduct a four-day campaign against him.

He mentioned the JIT and stated that the Gujrat district police officer (DPO) and CounterTerrorism Department personnel, both of whom appeared in the suspect's confessional video, had refused to cooperate with the JIT formed to investigate the attack.

Imran stated, without naming anyone, that a mobile phone forwarded by the JIT had been refused a forensic analysis by "an institution" working for the federal government.

Imran also played a CCTV video that allegedly showed the DPO telling an official to record the W-A Z-I R A-B A-D shooter's confessional statement during the address.

Which organization was responsible for making the suspect's confessional statement public? He stated, "I know it". When the JIT summons them, I hope we can identify them all

Rana dispels Imran’s claims

Hours earlier, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah had called the suspect N-A V-I D video statement "100 percent correct" and rejected the PTI's claim that three shooters were involved.

During a press conference in Islamabad, he told a reporter that the suspect was "self-motivated and religiously motivated".

Other than the arrested suspect, "there was no second or third suspect involved in the incident".

Rana stated that the PTI would not be able to "insert a second or third suspect" despite having the ability to conduct as many investigations as it wanted.

In addition, the interior minister stated that a single shooter was visible in multiple videos of the incident.

He asserted that Imran was feigning injury and stated that it was impossible not to fracture after being shot
