The Evolution Of iphone - iPhone 7 and 7 Plus (2016) - iPhone SE (2016)

 iPhone SE (2016)

Even though the world of smartphones was becoming increasingly preoccupied with big displays and big form factors, there were still individuals who admired the efficiency of a phone that was small and easy to carry. Apple launched the iPhone SE, a limited-edition mid-cycle iPhone with the most recent internals packed into a small form factor, with this audience in mind.

Although it was released in Space Gray, Silver, Gold, and Rose Gold, the iPhone SE was nearly identical to the iPhone 5 in terms of design and body, with the same physical dimensions. In terms of the internal hardware, the phone had Apple's most recent 64-bit A9 chip and was initially available in 16 GB and 64 GB storage options. In 2017, 32 GB and 128 GB versions were added. A 12MP rear camera with 4K (2160p) video recording is part of the same camera setup as the 6S and 6S Plus. However, there is no optical image stabilization.

The brand's most recent version of iOS 9-3 came preinstalled on the iPhone SE, which offered many exclusive features of the iPhone 6 Series, including Siri, Apple Pay, and Live Photos—but no 3D Touch.

Apple noted that the iPhone SE was well-received by individuals who desired the latest Apple perks but were more inclined toward a compact design. The iPhone SE is essentially a phone from the 5-series era and packed many updated features of the latest flagships offered by the lineup. As a result, it was well-received. On March 31, 2016, the first-generation iPhone SE went on sale for $399

iPhone 7 and 7 Plus (2016)

The iPhone 7 series, which debuted in 2016, represented a significant upgrade to Apple's product lineup in comparison to the iPhone 6. The first dual-camera setup on a smartphone was one of many "firsts" introduced by the 7 and 7 Plus. Despite obvious design changes, the shapes and sizes of both models were comparable to those of the 6 and 6 Plus.

They had a larger camera bump, particularly on the Plus model, and there was no 3-5 mm headphone jack (thanks, AirPods!). Instead, they had a secondary speaker grill. Black, Jet Black, Gold, Rose Gold, Silver, and Red were the six new color options for the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. Apple noted that the most significant upgrade was made to the camera system inside. A True Tone quad-LED flash was paired with a 12MP primary lens with a wider aperture of f/1-8 on both models. The Plus model had a 12 MP telephoto lens with an optical zoom of 2 and an aperture of f/2-8, but it did not have optical image stabilization. The front-facing cameras now have 7 MP resolution and can shoot in 1080p.

These models were now based on the most recent A10 Fusion chip, and the iPhone 7 had 2 GB of unified memory, while the plus model had 3 GB. Both of these models came with iOS 10. In addition, these models were officially the first iPhones to be IP67 water- and dust-resistant. On September 16, 2016, Apple released both the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus. The starting price for the iPhone 6S was $649, while the starting price for the iPhone 6S Plus was $749
