Career on the international stage In the 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup, he captained Pakistan's team. In November 2016, he made his debut for Pakistan in a Test match against New Zealand. In his first Test innings, he was run out for a golden duck. He was one of 33 players who received a central contract from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in August 2018 for the 2018–19 season.
R IZ wan scored his first century in T20I cricket in Pakistan's series against South Africa in February 2021 with an unbeaten 104 runs, including 6 boundaries and 7 sixes. In the third match between Pakistan and South Africa in April 2021, he and Ba bar A ZAM shared the opening wicket for 197 runs, which was also the highest partnership for any wicket shared by a pair while chasing.
